This was a gallery I produced a week ago. It was nice to learn more about which sandwiches are popular and what food trends are going on right now.
I spent around eight hours (yesterday and today) on figuring out to how best to present this data and then executing my vision. I knew very little about Photoshop before I started this job, but now I’ve gained a good amount of experience in it–just by visualizing what I want and then Googling for tutorials to see if I can make it come true. I spent a good chunk of this week (and last week) contacting PR people to get images for this Father’s Day gallery, writing it up, and then assembling it. A lot of the deals involve steak and beer, haha (Hey! Moms like steak and beer too!). Continue reading
Memorial Day brings special discounts for veterans and active military members, food and drink deals, barbecues and brunches. I curated this gallery for NRN (and RH). It’s always fun to see how restaurants celebrate certain holidays. Continue reading
Last night, I went to the preview of a new Beyond Sushi location opening up at Herald Square on May 10. This new restaurant will be different from the other Beyond Sushi places in the city because it is a dine-in restaurant with table service and a bar. I’m pretty cinco’ed out. I spent the last week or so gathering images and info about restaurant deals for Cinco de Mayo, so I’m pretty tired of the words “Cinco de Mayo,” “margarita,” “tequila,” and “tacos.” My friend in Mexico told me that only the state of Puebla celebrates the holiday there. I’ve never celebrated Cinco de Mayo and I’m not sure how or why Americans have latched onto this day, but maybe we all just like an excuse to get drunk and eat tacos (no judgment there).
See how restaurants are partying it up for Cinco de Mayo!
